This post is a long time. (I have experienced a delayed fall and winter, it seems.) So, although we have the Christmas season behind us, when the red lips are the latest craze, I hope you will still pamper me while I write a brief account of the Bite Beauty Matte Cream Lip Crayons, which I was allowed to try in recent months.
The colors come from an Influester VoxBox, and I admit that I was quite excited to try out some of the Bite brand. Of course, when I saw that the crayons were dull, it gave me a break, because not shiny lips are not my thing. In my head, dull = dry = cracked, and I have a hard time enough to moisturize things in the winter as it is.
As the picture shows, I was sent three shades – a nude shave called Cava (an online exclusive offer), a purple hue called Glace and a classic deep red called Red Velvet. I ended up giving the first two to a friend (the naked shadow looked ghostly on my fair skin and the purple hue just did not match my color scheme), but I’ve worn the red shadow a few times now.
Overall, I was more impressed than expected. First of all, I like that these are twisted, so there’s no messy sharpening. More importantly, the crayons are not nearly as dry or chalky as I thought. I’m not sure if I would go so far as to say that they are moisturizing – the brand claims that it “poured” naturally-derived orange peel wax into the ingredients to “seal moisture” – but I do not You make my lips drier than a normal lipstick.
Of course, this sweet little dot that you see in the picture above disappears rather quickly, so you still need a lip liner with some of the more powerful or darker nuances. And just like the Nars wrap, which feels silky at first sight but gets dirty at the end of the hat, the kind of gummy material it is made of looks pretty dirty even after a few days on the ground ,
If you want to try them out, these Bite Beauty crayons sell for $ 24 each on Sephora.com and come in 19 different colors – certainly enough variety for most people to find something they like. For me, I probably would not dare to buy more of them with my own money, if only because I prefer a satin finish instead, but I’ll be curious to know what you think when you shoot it.
